I was inspired to begin this blog after recently losing my mother, Donna Meyer, after a 9 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Those lucky enough to have known her would agree that she didn't just sit around talking about what to do... she went out and did it! Too many times she would ignore her common sense and justify it by saying, "Life's Too Short". She was right. And on August 20,2008 she proved it to all of those who love her!
So... I encourage us to take Donna's lead and go out and live our lives while we still can. I dare you all to do ONE thing every week that you haven't ever done before. It can be something tiny or it can be something huge and dynamic. Ideally, it should be something that adds to the common good. Something that allows us to 'pay it forward'. Or it could be an experiment that may lead you to appreciate different things in life. Something that perhaps challenges our perception of what's possible. Anything that could act as a response to the phrase 'Life's too short".
Life is precious--it is a gift. We are given a character and it is up to us what we do with it. We should all strive to be heroes. We should all aim for the impossible. But what fun is it if it goes undocumented?
I'd like to hear from others who are up to this challenge. Send me photos, links, videos, or descriptions of your weekly endeavors. This forum can help us stay in touch, allowing us to hold one another accountable for living a meaningful and interesting life. Lets learn to leave an impression before we leave this earth, and perhaps like Donna, we will leave a legacy behind!
